Cyber Tech Expo with seminars attract hundreds at Fort Gordon

Fort Gordon hosted its semi-annual Cyber Security and Technology Day March 10 at Gordon’s Conference and Catering center. The four-hour event was an opportunity for units under the United States Army Cyber Command, U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence, 7th Signal Command (Theater) and other personnel to see and experience the latest in technology while networking with experts in the industry. Military and Industry Come Together at USAG Wiesbaden Tech Expo

The USAG Wiesbaden Semi-Annual Tech Expo brought together almost 40 industry exhibitors and 300 attendees from the U.S. Army last week at the Tony Bass Fitness Center in Wiesbaden, Germany. Attendees were able to see a variety of technologies on display including cybersecurity, mobile devices and communication, data storage and retrieval, and cloud computing, among others. Read more

Federal Employees Find Face-to-Face Meetings Essential to Mission

A new survey of federal employees who have endured cutbacks in travel and conferences shows that a whopping nine out of 10 believe that face-to-face events and meetings are key to effective performance and fulfillment of agency missions. As many as 92 percent said engaging with colleagues, peers, partners and vendors in person “improves their ability to do their jobs effectively,” in a survey of 100 agency employees involved in meeting planning at 35 agencies conducted March 2-10 by the private Meetings Mean Business Coalition. Fully 84 percent agreed that “America’s future innovation and competitiveness is tied to engaging, collaborating and learning with those inside and outside of government,” said the survey released on Tuesday.
