NCSI is committed to making our events environmentally friendly.
We recognize that traditionally conferences and tradeshows use a large amount of paper and create waste.
NCSI plans to take new steps each year to decrease our waste and increase our use of recyclable materials.
Our goal is to be 80%
Green by the year 2014.
We started this effort in 2009 by:
• Encouraging attendees and exhibitors to save paper and register for our events online
• Decreasing quantities of printed materials to reduce waste
• Recycling plastic badge holders and reusing them at multiple events
• Giving attendees at our In-Agency Technology Expositions reusable bags made of recycled plastic
• Printing our conference programs on FSC certified paper - made of 25% poster consumer waste and 100% recyclable, and also using 100% recycled paper to print conference name badges
• Working with our show decorator to use metal and PVC that has been used and will be reused at other events and also using carpet padding that is made of 100% recycled foam material
• Selecting conference venues that follow green practices
• Eliminating paper sign in sheets at our In-Agency Technology Expositions
NCSI has been recycling at our corporate headquarters since 2006 and we continue to explore environmentally friendly options to improve our office.

As part of our green efforts, NCSI volunteered at a local county park to help remove invasive plants that are harmful to the natural ecosystem.
